Beelzebug Concentrate
Beelzebug Concentrate, Heel Mites, Itching and Biting Insects

· What is Beelzebug Concentrate?
Beelzebug Concentrate is a thick paste, which is diluted in warm water. It can be sponged or sprayed on and is left to dry. It should not be rinsed out. Beelzebug Concentrate is particularly useful in getting rid skin mites or heel mites in heavy and cobby horses since their feathers do not have to be removed for the application to be effective. This is particularly useful if showing or competing. Each leg can simply be stood in the solution (tubbed) for about 5 minutes and then left to dry naturally.

· How does it work?
The main principle on which it works is known as an anti-feedant principle. This means that it stops the flies and bugs from actually biting to get a blood meal. Proteins in Beelzebug Concentrate disrupt the feeding mechanisms of biting insects and it is the biting that causes the irritation and starts the horse itching and rubbing.

· How is it different to Beelzebug Oil?
Firstly, it is water-soluble whereas Beelzebug Oil is vegetable oil based. Secondly, it contains slightly less active ingredient, otherwise the applications are the same, i.e. it will help get rid of and repel all external biting and blood-sucking insects and bugs.

· Will it work on other flies, such as horse flies?
Yes, it is good for all external biting / blood-sucking insects and bugs like fleas, ticks, lice etc. It can also be used to treat mites that infest the feathers of heavy horses, cobs and some native ponies.

· Can it be used on dogs and other pets?
Yes, it is equally effective at controlling flea, mite or lice infestations in dogs, llamas, alpacas, guinea pigs etc. especially if they can be bathed in the solution on a regular basis to clear up and then control the infestation. The solution can also be used to disinfest stables, kennels, catteries etc. by spraying or washing out.
